The latest cassette from West Virginia four-piece The Furr, titled 'Beekeeper,' expands on their typical mixture of distorted psych and garage -- previously released on Stockholm's Fluere Tapes and drummer Liz Pavlovic's Crash Symbols imprint. 'Beekeeper' reinforces the new wave sensibility that helped structure the band's past releases and showcases the scope of their wider international influences. References to South America, Asia, and Europe speak to broader interests in travel and other cultures, while the music meditates on the weight of capitalism and hope for future directions. A great rendition of The Talking Head's "Love For Sale" feels appropriate, particularly alongside The Furr's politically-edged original "Need."

about

The Furr Morgantown, West Virginia

The Furr was born out of our members' united love for a mixture of short, fun, loud rock ditties and improvised dadaist jams. We pay homage to some of our favorite songs by covering them with large blankets. We want to put a lima bean in your fannypack.

The Furr is:
Eli Pollard (lead vocals, theremin, guitar)
Francisco Amaya (guitar, backing vocals)
Jarrod Ott (bass)
Liz Pavlovic (drums, vocals)
